Spring Portraits and a Surprise~The D Family~Durham Family Photography

We couldn’t have asked for a better day for our photo shoot! The rain stayed away, it was cloudy, no sweating from the heat and GORGEOUS flowers in bloom. If you would like spring pictures done at Duke Gardens, now is the time!! Little C was as cute as could be, I even got some kisses (I was so happy to finally meet him after seeing all the precious pictures of him on Facebook!). I was even apart of their secret they went onto reveal right after the shoot. Lauren and Tim (who are the sweetest people you will ever meet) brought a sign they made that said “I’m going to be a Big Brother!” and we took some cute pictures of C holding the sign to announce the surprise! Bright and Sunshiney Day!

Little snipits of warm days mixed into winter are my favorite, I love a little break from the cold and a chance to soak up the sun! Us pale folk (Dillon and I) need a little extra vitamin D in the winter! We went to the park today with some friends and I took a few pictures of my little dude…red cheeks, dirt, sweat, fake smile, toddler squat (as demonstrated below) and all. The sun was almost overhead at the park so the lighting is extra bright! His red hair had some fire to it today!

I also took some in the evening after he woke up from nap, when the sun was setting. This is my favorite kind of light…soft, warm and glowing. Makes me think of Spring!

Boys and their rocks! He doesn’t need any toys, rocks and sticks will do just fine.

And one more because I couldn’t resist this face…and those eyes…

~The S Family at Duke Chapel~Durham Family Photography

I met the S family on a mild day in January at the Duke Chapel for family pictures. I was so happy to have some warm days this winter for outdoor family sessions, you never know how the weather will be in NC! They had a great idea of wearing their Duke shirts (Go Duke, couldn’t turn that idea away!!) and to meet on campus. If you have a favorite park, a special place that means a lot to you, where you went to school, location of your first date, etc it makes the location that much more special! If you are thinking about ideas for your session, think about places that might have a special meaning to you or your family! Little A and baby B were so fun to capture, thanks for a wonderful family session, S family!!
